SCAN Management Consultants, founded in 1978 by Hein Becht is the leading independent consultancy in its field in The Benelux. Being the first consultancy in Europe to advise clients on agency selection, relationship management and remuneration, SCAN has developed a unique position and is recognized as an authority in its field. Over more than twenty five years we have developed our portfolio of services into areas such as Identity and Design Management, Communications and Media Management and Integrated Brand Management, covering strategic advice, auditing, organization and agency relations. Our team consists of professionals from various relevant disciplines and backgrounds.
To better serve international clients, SCAN Management Consultants. is a partner in SCAN INTERNATIONAL, a multi-local communication management consultancy created in 2005. Partners of SCAN INTERNATIONAL are GrupoConsultores (Spain/ Portugal/Brazil), Scan Management Consultants (Benelux), Joanne Davis Consulting (USA), and Videotheque (France), all shareholders of Scan International BV –Amsterdam. Country Partners are The Haystack Group (UK) and Cherrypicker (Germany/Austria/Switzerland).

Following his graduation from Nijenrode University, Hein managed various accounts for a number of prominent advertising agencies. Based on this experience, he developed the SCAN concept and established SCAN in 1978 as an independent consulting agency in the field of communication policy, strategy and agency relations. Over the years, Hein has expanded the agency's field of operations by engaging consultants in other communication disciplines. Hein is acting President / CEO of SCAN International.
The concept.
In 1978, SCAN presented a completely new concept to the Dutch branding and communication world: independent management consulting in the areas of communication strategy, communication management and agency selection. Over the years, the concept has grown and developed in response to the needs and requirements of our clients, and now forms a solid basis for a broad range of consulting services and solutions.
Services.
We offer full service consulting in agency search, agency compensation, current agency optimization, client marketing communications optimization and education for marketing and procurement teams. Although agency selection lies at the foundations of SCAN, our activities range beyond agency relations, into the area of strategic brand and communications management. Our range of services is based on the belief that in depth understanding of strategic and organizational challenges improves the success rate of agency consulting considerably, while preventing to focus on agency issues where more fundamental internal issues should be addressed first.
